Change in Elixir Product Lifecycle Policy from 18 November 2023
Thank you for being long-standing Elixir customers all these years. Elixir’s main commitment is to ensure our software is secure and well-maintained while offering good value for money. As such we keep a close tab on both the technical development as well as licensing model of the underlying components used in our product development.
Having said that, we would like to inform you that Elixir Technology Pte Ltd will be revising its product lifecycle policy with effect from 18 November 2023 onwards. The reason for the change in our lifecycle policy is due to the rapid development landscape to ensure our products are constantly updated against security vulnerabilities. To ensure that our products are always protected against the latest security threats and vulnerabilities we have made the decision to revise the active and security support periods of our products and adopt a yearly release strategy for both Ambience/Repertoire 202x to ensure the latest source codes and libraries are used in our releases.
Ambience/Repertoire 202x will have two release types: LTS (Long Term Support) and Non-LTS. LTS versions of Ambience/Repertoire 202x are released every three years and maintained for six years in total; three years active support followed by three years security support. Non-LTS versions are released yearly and are maintained for a period of two years; one year active followed by one year security support.
For Repertoire 8.x users, do note that security support ends 18 November 2023 for versions 8.9 and below, these versions will be transitioning to extended support from 19 November 2023 onwards. Active support for Repertoire 8.10 ends 18 November 2023 and will be entering the security support phase on 19 November 2023 accordingly. You can continue to use Repertoire 8.x as-is with extended support, but we encourage all current users to upgrade to Repertoire 2023 for the latest functionality and access to future security updates.
Attached is a copy of the updated product lifecycle policy which will be officially announced via our website and sales correspondence on 18 November 2023 itself for your reference. As long as you have an on-going support and maintenance contract with us, you are entitled to the upgrade software at no charge. Note that depending on the options you choose, you may need to plan for migration time and efforts which are not covered by Elixir.
